Infill development: An Approach to an Optimal Solution by James Landers

Development has always been a hot topic for quite some time now. As long as there has been matured neighborhood, urban infill development did not take place. Infill development creates mature neighborhoods. In certain places urban infill development has flourished to a new level but at some it hasn’t been introduced.

When urban design is considered for the infill level, the size and the massing is an integral factor. Because most of these developments are built on existing vacant lots, a newly built place has an imposing presence on the streets. The initial impressions are important especially against the bigger picture urbanistically. Some feel the new upcoming building should mimic the style of previous ones (already existing). Some dislike urban development and feel it to be an intrusion in their neighborhood and complaint about the size or style of the development. Well, the majority supports infill.
Tampa Bay is a growing city and a developing region need to allow the density along with new housing typologies to foster their growth. Aspen VG manages factors like suburban growth and access to affordable housing. Infill is adding something to the community and an element that will adjust the neighborhood background that has stood for decades together.

The new urban infill development that urban infill developer James Lander’s create never looks back, and that is something to be embraced.
